Come on Baby!

As of April 3 (36 weeks) I was officially off bed rest and all meds to stop labor! I got off at 34 weeks but they said I was progressing too quickly so at 35 weeks I had to go back on for another week. Last week on Wednesday (37 weeks!) we had our routine weekly check-up and an ultrasound. I was so happy to have an ultrasound because we hadn't had one since 28 weeks...that's a long time to go without seeing our baby! They just checked the fluid, made sure he was practicing breathing and made sure everything looked fine, which it does! And they were able to get his weight...a whole 6lb 12oz! I was dilated to a 5 and 80% effaced. The doc said she didn't think I would make it to my appointment a week from then and said she didn't even know if he would wait till her next shift at the hospital which was Fri. That night we ended up going to the hospital because I was having contractions 3-5 min apart for an hour. We get there and the nurse who checked me in said she didn't even think I would make it through the night! So I got on the phone, called my mom and told her to get her butt here! She booked her flight and was flying in that night at 11. I'm sitting there back in triage being monitored and they said the contractions weren't doing anything and I wasn't dilating anymore so I needed to get up and walk for about 40 min and they would check me again to see if I was dilating anymore. And of course...I wasn't :( So they sent me home even though I could barely walk cause of the contractions that were TWO minutes apart! They said I was still considered preterm so they weren't going to do anything to speed up labor. It was so discouraging! And then my mom missed her flight! She was able to reschedule for the next morning which was nice, but guess what?! It's TUESDAY now and still no baby. We even walked all around the new outlet mall here for a couple hours and I've been taking Trixie on walks 2 times a day and definitely not taking it easy around the house. Luckily she was able to use her airline miles so she paid a total of $5 round trip. She flew back yesterday so now we are hoping he will wait another week to come so she can be here for the birth! But of course this little guy works on no ones schedule but his own, little stinker! He's been trying to come since 27 weeks and now that he actually can, he doesn't want to! We are just so excited to meet him and getting impatient now. Before my mom left Sean kept saying to me "Are you having the baby yet?" haha. And then he said he was just going to push the baby out so he would get here before my mom had to leave! But this little one is just too comfortable in there, which I wouldn't think since he is running out of room! He is constantly stretching out now and I can see his feet sticking out of my side! It's pretty funny. He does still kick my ribs every once in a while but then I push him out and we have a little war cause he always kicks back! Tomorrow I will be 38 weeks, so technically he still has 2 weeks before he has to come. We will see what the doctor has to say tomorrow morning at our appointment. But having doctors and nurses tell you he will be here any minute just has us on our toes all the time! But at least we are all ready. The hospital bag is packed and the car seat is in the car. Guess we have no choice but to be patient now!

They say that natural ways to induce labor include the 'S' trio... Have you heard of it? eat Spicy, Speed walking, Sex... Don't know if it really works, but you could try! :D haha

I can't believe that I haven't blog-stalked you in this long, what a crazy pregnancy! I'm so glad you have your adorable little baby now! I wish you lived closer, I would have loved to cook meals for you and babysit Trixie and visit you while you were sewing quiet books! Move back! j/k :)
