Sean Richardson!
I know it has been a LONG time since I have blogged and I thought you should all know what is going on in my life now! I have been dating Sean since Dec. 2, 2009. He will be 25 in July, he's from Silver City, NM, Throws the javelin for BYU, studying exercise science and wants to be a podiatrist...he's a little over 6'2'' (Tall, dark, and handsome!), and he's MINE! :)
Here is how we met..
I moved down to Provo in August '09. My roommates and I all got invited over to some guys place in our ward for dinner and dessert. We are all just sitting there talking, and all of a sudden, this tall, dark, muscular, handsome man comes out and sits with us all for a little bit. He was kinda quite, so I kinda just overlooked the idea of trying to get to know him. He seemed like he might be a little too into himself, or a little cocky cause he was an athlete at BYU. His roommate (Shea) asked me out a couple times after that, so I kinda figured that just blew my chances at anything with him anyways because of some "guy code". But there was just something different about him. I would see him at church every Sunday and occasionally at some activities. He wasn't all "look at me! Watch what I can do!" and loud like all the other guys in our ward, and that just kinda intrigued me! I wanted to know more about this guy, but I could never get him to just come over and talk to me...and I wasn't used to that! (not to sound conceded or anything). So I said hi to him once at ward prayer, and then I saw him at another activity we had up at a cabin. I walked by him and said "Sean...right?" (Even though I knew his name was Sean. All my roommates thought he was gorgeous and they were soooo lucky to have him be their home teacher!) He just stood there and said "Yeah". Okay...what was my deal?? Was I losing my game or what? I'd give him the look, give him the chance to start up conversations...and nothing! So here it was, 3 months later...My friend Lindsey (the one who lucked out in getting him as a home teacher) had updated her facebook status saying how much fun she had spending the day with Shaylin and I. Sean happened to comment on it saying something like "Hmm...would have been more fun if Luke and I were there! (Luke was his home teaching partner), so...making one more attempt to make myself known to him, I decide to comment under his calling him a liar because there is no way you can have anymore fun than you can with Shaylin and I! A couple days later I see him at a thanksgiving activity and he sees me walk in and kinda shakes his head at me and says "I can't believe you called me a liar". I ended up sitting by him and got him to talk a little...but pretty much all I got out of him was that he didn't like hip hop music or country music. But...since I had a little bit of a conversation with him, I figured I was okay to add him as a friend on facebook (So I could look through his pictures and try to find more out about him from his profile on there). He knew I was a massage therapist, so he started chatting with me one night (Wed, Dec 2) on facebook and said "Hey...remember that one time you called me a liar and said you would do ANYTHING to make it up to me?? Well, I could really use a massage..." Right, like that's the first time I've heard that before! So after giving a little attitude back to him, I gave in. Yeah...what?? I've had one semi conversation with this guy, and I invited him over to my aunts house because I had to do laundry anyways and didn't want to be there all by myself and said I would give him a massage while the laundry was going. On my way over to pick him up, it kinda hit me...what the heck was I doing?? Was this going to be completely awkward?? He doesn't seem like a big talker, what could I say to him? I figured we could just put on a movie or something after, that way we wouldn't have to talk much. However...I was worried about NOTHING! After the massage, we just sat on the couch and talked FOREVER!! He even helped me fold all my laundry! We talked till about 2 in the morning! The next day, he text me and said how much fun he had and that we should do it again! We decided to go out the following night (Fri, Dec 4)...which ended up being the night of our first kiss during a movie we were watching at his place!
Side note: I found out later that Sean had told his roommate Shea after that night that he thought I was cute and wanted to ask me out. However...Shea went ahead and asked me out first. Since I wasn't interested in him and wouldn't open up to him, he told Sean that I wasn't worth his time, can't get me to open up for anything, and that I was a player. So Sean kinda just watched from a distance for a while to try and figure me out. THAT'S Why it took so long and I was having such a hard time getting him to pay attention to me!!
Now, here we are 5 1/2 months later and we have either talked on the phone or seen each other everyday since then! Jan 6th was the day we became OFFICIALLY boyfriend/girlfriend, and March 25th was the first day we said "I love you".
I can't even describe how much in love I am with this man! He loves the gospel, takes his priesthood seriously, visits the temple often, is very respectful towards women, is very protective towards me, works hard in school and works hard at completing his goals, he's very driven, respects his mother and treats her so well. He has a great love for families and a huge respect towards marriage and temple covenants. Do they get any better than this??
January 7, 2010 for my 23rd birthday!
Mom was in town for the weekend to spend some time with Shyn and I and to meet Sean! She tried getting him to throw me in the pool! (April 2010)
She was getting a photo shoot of us (Surprise huh?? haha) and I was going to fall down that rocky hill in my heels, so he just turned around and swooped me right up like I was a little doll!
I love him!
