Meeting the PARENTS!

This past weekend I flew to New Mexico to meet Sean's parents! He had a track meet in Albuquerque that his parents were driving over for so he decided to fly me out there as well! (Yes, he even paid for the ticket!) It was a short trip, I flew out Friday morning and back Sunday morning. I was pretty nervous for a while there. He bought the ticket about a month before so I had plenty of time to freak out. Meeting the parents is a big deal! Meeting MY parents isn't a big deal because they are completely laid back and funny! But are all parents like that? I wasn't sure. Luckily his dad reassured me by texting me this...

"Hi there Lil Lady! I'm Dave, Sean's fat ugly ole Dad. I would like to break the ice before we see you at the airport. I'm 60, white haired, and can't remember a thing. I am totally nutso and love 2 laugh. I hope 2 get 2 know u a bit. If Sean thinks u r great then thats good enough 4 me."

Haha if THAT didn't put me at ease I don't know what would have! I had a feeling I would get along just great with his parents! And I DID!

Once I got to the airport and heading down the escalator to the baggage claim, I see his mom waiting at the bottom taking pictures of me! She runs over and gives me the biggest hug and tells me how excited she is that I was able to come! She puts her arm around me and walks over with me to Sean and his Dad. Sean gives me a huge hug and kiss and then his Dad gives me a big hug as well! Sean looks over at his mom and she has tears in her eyes! He asked he why she was crying and she said "They are happy tears!"

So the weekend went GREAT! It wasn't awkward at all and I had so much fun! Sean was in rooms with all the track guys so I stayed in the same room with his parents...which secretly I was a little worried about when I found out that's how it was going to be, but it was just fine! There were times when sean would have a track meeting or actually competing when it was just me and his parents, and I had SOOO much fun! They are goofballs and made me feel right at home!


Sean did great at his meet...2nd place! He will find out next week if he makes it to Nationals (which is in Oregon the 2nd week of June). His mom said if he makes it to Nationals, which we are positive he will, then she is driving up from NM and picking me up on the way there! I'm pretty sure she was serious too haha.





His Mother text me today...

"Hi there, how are you? I just wanted to let you know how very much we enjoyed you last weekend. What a wonderful, awesome young lady you are!! We fell in love with you and think you are one special lady! We hope we can all see each other again soon! Thanks for being so good to our son too, he's pretty special. Take care!"

I just LOVE them all and had such a fun weekend. It went way too fast!
