15 weeks!

I went to get my flu shot today finally! I was really debating doing it since I have NEVER had one, but I finally decided to just do it since the doctor recommended it and I could get it for free. And someone said their doctor told them if you get the flu when you are pregnant you could be hospitalized for up to 2 weeks! I didn't want to risk it.
I also called my doctor this week because my next appointment is on the 19th and I will be 16 weeks 5 days along. I REALLY wanted to find out what we are having before Thanksgiving so we would be able to tell family and I know they can tell at 16 weeks. But when I asked my doctor if we can do the ultrasound that day too she said NO and that they want to wait till I am 18 weeks. LAME!! She said if they can't tell at 16 weeks the insurance won't pay for an extra ultrasound later. Which I GUESS is an okay excuse...but I am NOT a patient woman! Especially being pregnant!
So I've been going online and looking up old wives-tales on how to tell what you are having. Sean just laughs at me and says none of those are real and I just have to wait. But I still like to look. One of them said if the heartbeat is 150 beats/minute then it is a boy, if it is higher it is a girl. At the last appointment ours was 158 beats/minute. Another one said to tie your wedding ring to a piece of thread and hang it over your stomach and based on the energy inside you it will either swing in a circle for a boy, or back and forth for a girl. I usually would have thought this was super strange, but in one of my energy work classes in Massage school we did this type of stuff on each other to find bad energy in the body and the string really does move on it's own! So I tried it...and it swung back and forth! So based on those 2, we are having a girl :) Plus my little nephew said we are having a girl too haha. That is my prediction. Hopefully only 2 1/2 more weeks till we know for sure!
