Etching

This morning I decided to finally try out etching. I have had this stencil all ready for quite a few months to try out on my cake stand lid, just never attempted to do it. But this morning I was feeling a little daring and decided it was time!

Let me just say...trying this on a rounded surface for the first time is NOT easy! It looked so much easier on Pinterest. I couldn't get it to lay flat, there were so many bubbles, and apparently I didn't spread the etching cream on very even. If you look close you will see many...not-so-perfect spots. However, if you keep at a good distance, it looks pretty dang cute! For the future, I think I will stick to etching FLAT surfaces only.
